Hey, guys, I’m Daijah, and I’m the creator of the DaiDreamer blog. A few weeks ago, I wrote a post about my favorite Christian music albums of all time. In it, I mentioned that I was “leaving out the ever-growing list of singles” because it was “a post for another time”. I decided that this week is my “another time”. Also, I realized that my list of favorite albums is missing a few of my favorite albums, so I’ll be sharing those today.
For those of you who are new to my blog, welcome!!! I am so glad you are here, and you’ll like it here on DaiDreamer, because my blog is a safe place for tweens, but if you are a teen or an adult, you are also welcome here. Here on my blog I talk media of all kinds, although more books than anything else. Of course, I’m always open to suggestions, though, so if there’s a movie or video game or podcast or album that you would like me to review, I’ll take a look just for you.
Okay, let’s get into the list of the best single releases last year (since I can’t exactly do this year or all the past years):
Number three is Mean Girls by Leanna Crawford.

So, I actually first heard this song this year, even though it came out last. I guess because of the title I thought it had something to do with the movie series (or whatever), so I never tried it. This song is essentially about bullying. It’s sad that no matter how old you get, there’s still the chance of people being mean to you. This song brings God into the bullying scene, though, so it’s great for girls who might be being picked on.
Number two is My Portion by Jekalyn Carr.
I can’t say I was going through anything necessarily dark, but this was my song during a season. I was writing a lot and I felt this song was telling me to keep going with it. It made me feel like writer’s block was not my portion.

And number one is Hold Us Together by H.E.R featuring Tauren Wells.

This was a song I was afraid to admit that I enjoyed because it is by H.E.R and I don’t listen to her. But the song’s lyrics always reminded me that God was there. The second verse of the song (Tauren’s part) is my favorite because it reminds me of the verse it came from (Jeremiah 11:9).
And here are the albums I missed in my My Top Five Gospel/Christian Contemporary Albums post:
Hundred More Years
I can’t remember how we ended up listening to this album, actually, and there are some songs I haven’t heard off of it. But the songs that I do know, my mom played over and over. This is the Stuff, You Never Are, So Long… I still remember these songs.
Crystal Aikin
I distinctly remember listening to this album on trips to our local YMCA back in elementary school. Both Kayden and I could sing any track off of the album, and I remember asking the dee-jay to play a track off this album at a kid’s night in at our YMCA. They did put it on, but I just distinctly remember that they cut it off in the middle. It still kind of hurts to remember that.
Miracle

Now, this album came to me at an interesting time of my life. I wasn’t really listening to anything but Lindsey Stirling and Tori Kelly, but I just know that I put it on one day for no real reason. Over time, I found myself listening to more and more off of the album. It kind of helped me get back on track. It got me back interested in Christian music.
Well, guys, I hope that you enjoyed my ramblings about albums and singles. I know that the list was very short, but I couldn’t stretch it on forever. I really love music; it’s a huge part of my life. I hope that you listen to at least one of the songs or albums on this list; they might become a new favorite. If you have an album or single that you would like to share, I would love to hear it, and if you have heard any of the albums on my list, just let me know! Thanks for reading today’s post! Be sure to subscribe on my homepage if you’re interested in what else I have to offer.
‘K, bye!
