Hi, guys! It's me, Daijah. I know, it's been awhile. It's been busy, and I already made plans to discontinue the DaiDreamer blog. At first, I was just going to kind of ghost the website. Never update, never say I wasn't going to. But I changed my mind because I had a bit of free time between college classes. It's been almost three years of writing this blog and this will be the seventieth post. Yet it doesn't feel like the huge victory I guess it is because I have not reached as many people as I wanted to. In fact, the only ones I have with this new version of my blog is my family. It's just not what I imagined.

I started this blog when I was fifteen. Yes, I figure it's time to finally put that out there now that I'm almost an adult. I've been writing the blog for three years this April. And back when I started it, I did it because I wanted to give parents and tweenager and teenagers a safe space to go where they can find book recommendations and advice. I look back at my posts and I've talked about so much stuff and I really didn't write it just so that my family could read it and say "great job". But since it's been almost three years and that's about all I've gotten, I've decided to move on.

No, I'm not taking down the site. My seventy posts will be up online forever, if I can help it. If anything, they will be a testament to the next generation that young people are capable of doing big things. It takes time, but it is possible. Yet there's also another lesson from this. You must know when to let go if something you thought would work out isn't and find the next thing. It's never that you are losing something. It's just that you're moving up to the next thing. And for me, right now, it's Instagram.

I now have two profiles-- one to share my art, which you've seen a very, very small bit of on this blog, and another to do book reviews for middle graders, teens, and new adults, as well as just chats and even some skits with my siblings. The former profile is under @dailorrainedreams and the latter is under @thedaijahdiaries. I am just getting started, but I have big hopes. I am also currently trying to find book review programs that give me books to read and review, and I am currently (eagerly) waiting for the response to an application now.

I really am glad I got to embark on this journey with you guys. I grew a lot and got tons of practice on sharing stories, giving advice, and concisely sharing my thoughts about books, movies, and even video games. I don't think that I could be who I am today if I had not started this blog. But the ship has sailed and reached it's destination. I stayed for a little while there, but now I know it's time to get on the next ship. I am enjoying the journey so much. I hope you continue to enjoy it with me.

Love you!

'K, bye!
