Hey guys, it’s me, Dai! As usual, I have something to share with you. Welcome to this spot on the internet where preteens, young teens, and parents can find advice, art, and of course, media reviews. If you’ve been here before, then you know the drill.

Today, I want to talk with you guys about two Christian-catered streaming services: PureFlix and UP. Since it’s nearing the beginning of 2024 at the time of this post’s release, I know a lot of parents are considering subscribing to new streaming services. At this time, Netflix is a bombardment of everything- good and bad- in the world. Hulu? Don’t even get me started. Disney+ has been questionable basically since it was launched. (I’m sure you’ve seen some things you never expected to see even in the Kids section.)

At the time this post was written (in August), we recently got a free trial to a streaming service called UP. It specializes in faith and family entertainment. We’ve had PureFlix for awhile now, and its movies are definitely faith-centered. But if I were to suggest one, which one would it be?

UP Faith and Family is a streaming service that has both Christian films and mainstream ones. Besides being the home of all five Chandler Christmas movies, it also has several originals including the Jesus Calling series, The Parker Andersons and its spin off Amelia Parker, and even Heartland.

Soo…

  1. Faith-Centered Movies

  2. Ratings

  3. Series/Movies PureFlix doesn’t have

  4. Better setup than PureFlix

  5. Not all Christian films

  6. Some of the same movies PureFlix has

  7. A lot of mystery series

PureFlix is a streaming service that mainly contains Christian films, including the Kendrick Brothers’ films: Courageous, LifeMark, and War Room (sometimes). It also has originals such as the series Elanor’s Bench, Heaven Sent, Sun Moon, and Learning to Love.

Soo…

  1. Faith-based movies

  2. Poor ratings system

  3. Movies/series UP doesn’t have

  4. Poor setup

  5. Better movies/series

  6. A lot of romance films

They’re both pretty decent. I’d suggest getting both if you’re ditching all your other streaming services. But if I were to pick one over the other, it would probably be UP. Not only is the setup better, but it has many of the movies PureFlix does. However, if you got UP, you would be missing out on the exclusive series and movies on PureFlix. Personally, so far, I think the originals on PureFlix are better, so… If you’re looking for good setup and pretty decent shows, UP is good. However, if you don’t mind the setup PureFlix has better series and oftentimes, movies, so it’s a good choice for getting into the Christian movie genre.

If you want some suggestions on what to watch on either service, ask me in the comments. Tell me what you like and I can give you a pretty good match.

Well, thanks for reading this post. I’m taking time out of my day to write it and you’re taking your time out of the day to read it. I’m truly grateful. I hope you learned a little about these services and that you’ll support Christian streaming services.

Have a great day.

‘K, bye!
