Hi, guys! Welcome to DaiDreams, where a little daydream becomes a full post! My name is Daijah, and I am an artist in many different ways. I draw, write, sing, and have a million daydreams about all those things in a single day. 😆 Today, I wanted to speak to other creative souls about ways that I make my Bible reading pleasant.
When I was a tween, I didn’t halfway know what to read in my Bible. I had a season that I didn’t read it at all, but that’s another story. About half of a year ago I began to draw in my Bible with the colored pens I just had hanging out in my room. I have the Girls’ Beautiful Word Bible, so there’s a bit of space and some pictures printed in the margins. (It was made to be a coloring Bible, but it didn’t work out with my colored pencils.)
Now my Bible is filled with doodles and journal entries and color. It continues to grow with each mark I make with my pens and highlighters.
Some people say that things like this are girly, but I think a boy can have a really cool journaling Bible. Here are a few examples:

It’s a lot of fun, and it’s great to look back at where I’ve been. Sometimes I trace over the printed drawings. Once I drew around a few verses in Proverbs. Sometimes I just write the date and what I’m thinking in the margins. I also write my responses to verses in the margins beside them. Not only does this help me to use my creative energy, it helps me to remember what I read better and connect to passages on a deeper, more artistic level.
If you’ve been looking for a way to enjoy the Bible better, grab some colored pens and draw all over it. There are no rules except: have fun and grow in faith.
Until next time.
Keep on dreaming.
