Power Bowls + a few healthy snacks

Hey, guys, welcome to my new page, DaiDreams. A couple daydreams can bring about really good ideas. One of my recurring ideas is of making sweets that are better for you to eat. As you know, baked goods could be loaded with sugar and other not-so good for you ingredients like excessive amounts of butter and salt. Now I’m not saying that indulging is bad, but I would really love to sink my teeth into a brownie that doesn’t leave me feeling anxious and sick from the sugar.

Because of that, I’ve been developing some recipes and trying other people’s healthy recipes. I’ve made zucchini brownies, cheese free pesto dip, and healthier fruit muffins. I’ve made cheese-less alfredo sauce, vegan parmesan cheese, and almond flour chocolate mug cakes. Every single one of these things has got me nothing but complaints. (Especially from my little sister, Z, who believes that brownies need sugar in them. I’ve yet to prove her wrong.)

Another thing I’ve really been taking notice of is eating more plant-powered meals. Me and my family just got off of the Daniel Fast in February (which is when I’m writing this post) , and I’ve noticed that eating such a vegetable and fruit based diet made my mood better, gave me more energy, and didn’t leave me craving more to eat. Now I eat more thoughtfully. As I’m doing so, I find myself enjoying meals more.

Today I want to share some of my favorite Power Bowl pairings and some delicious snacks to eat that will make you feel just great.

  1. Power Bowl option #1– with brown rice (instant can be cooked up really fast), chopped onions🧅, mushrooms🍄, and peppers🫑, sauteed in salt🧂, pepper, and everything bagel seasoning. Top with avocado🥑. 😋

  2. Power Bowl Option #2– Serve sauteed mushrooms🍄, onions🧅, tomatoes🍅, and garlic🧄 on instant quinoa, like this brand from Aldi.

  3. Power Bowl option #3- Cook up mushrooms🍄, onions🧅, peppers🫑, and vegan sausage like Beyond Meat or Tofurky (I personally don’t like the texture of Tofurky, but…) and serve on top of brown rice.

  4. Snack Option #1– Some nice black bean or cassava chips with red pepper or garlic hummus. You can even make your own hummus with a few simple ingredients.

  5. Snack Option #2– Popcorn🍿. Cover with vegan parmesan for a cheesy taste or go with some simple popcorn salt🧂.

By the way, did you know you could cut the meat out of your Philly Cheesesteak and just replace the meat with mushrooms? But we can’t get into all that today because, then, I’d have nothing to post about later!

Until next time, I’ll just keep daydreaming.

And I’ll see you soon.

Keep on dreaming.
